Each guitar amplifier has its own tone stacks, with specific response curves. If you want to play around with different tone stacks, for personal or professional purposes, you can turn to Tone Stack Calculator. This lightweight utility lets you preview the response curves for various tone stacks, with different settings. It's an excellent pick for technicians who tweak and modify amplifiers regularly, as well as enthusiasts and students.

The application is absolutely free, and you won't encounter any hidden fees or restrictions. It comes in a small package, and you can install it in just a few seconds, on any Windows platforms, from Win 95 to Win 10. You don't have to meet any special requirements, so you can run the software immediately after installing it.

The simple design of the user interface makes it exceptionally to see how response curves look like for each assembly. You can find diagrams of the supported tone stacks on separate tabs, on the left side of the user interface, as well as adjustment sliders for bass mid and treble. The curve is displayed on the right side of the window, and you can see it changing in real time as you move the aforementioned sliders.

The application supports several popular tone stack types, including Fender, Vox and Marshall. What's more, if you double-click a tone stack's diagram, you will find options for changing its potentiometer value and for switching between linear curve style and log type A or B. Tone Stack Calculator places a few color customization controls at your disposal, and it also lets you take snapshots of the calculated curves if you need to have them handy in other projects.

From amateurs to professionals, anyone who likes to play around with guitar amplifiers will find Tone Stack Calculator a valuable tool.

Pros

The application supports a good number of tone stack types, from popular manufacturers. It has a simple user interface and straightforward controls. It lets you make various tweaks and take snapshots of the resulting curves.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to address.
